looks like you all got the fashion memo this year... 2006 is the year of Dan winning. Thank you all kindly for your participation and donations. Everyone is welcome at the next event to try to change the trend. Resistance is Futile.
The game was fun, with 7 players, 2 first timers (Randy and Megan Purdy). Matt set himself up with an All-in just after rebuy time again and Pat went all in as well. Matt won the main pot and tripled up and I won the side pot taking our Mr Erb first. That's 2 games in a row for Matt, depleting a Patrick's chips so I could do the dirty work. Brouwer stayed alive, Fournie was next, followed by Megan. Dave tried really hard to stay in, but the chips were mostly in Randy and Dan's corner. That left 3, Randy with a decent lead for most of the night, Matt holding on for dear life and Dan hot on Randy's heels. Matt did some good work at depleting Mr Purdy's stack so I finished him off and went to work killing Matt's efforts. I played a steady game which paid off in the end. Kudos to Megan and Randy for making strong first-time efforts at the table.
Katch me if you Kan Brouwer!

I just want to add that it was a game of firsts. Not only were there 2 first time players finishing well, this marks the first time someone has won three times in a row, and it was the first time that I lost heads-up.
Sorry to interrupt... you may now continue the smack talk.
You're just lucky you got to heads up. If you had Wager's luck, you'd be out first again, but no, you've got the luck of the Dutch, who I might add talk funny. I think my point is pretty clear... Unsurmountable... at least by the dutch.
All I gotta say is that it's a good thing that Dave noticed the marked card... who knows how many were marked, and for how long.
