Keeping The Archives Up-To-Date

The photos from the Labour Day Classic are finally online! It's important to have visual records of people losing their money, isn't it? One of these days we ought to do some videos and put them up on YouTube.

Anyway, so a game on Friday night, eh? Be there!

Did Someone Say "Brooms"?

The Touring Poker Tour of Poker finally lived up to the "Touring" part of it's name by having it's first away game. Four of us went out to the Brussels Casino and Trebuchet Factory, having a game after working on our trebuchet all day. Matt (that's right, I'm writing this in third person) finally remembered how to win, and he did it in style by sweeping away Dan, Tim, and Rudy in a shutout. Interesting note: This was Dan's first ever last place finish. Interesting note 2: Rudy is on a three game "head's up" streak.

The final order of finish:
1 - Matt
2 - Rudy
3 - Tim
4 - Dan
Pictures are up too.

Get out the brooms

Well, the labour day came and went, with the same old story coming to the top. Dan snagged his season leading 4th victory and cleared up the family feud by beating brother Tim heads up.

Matt continued in his slump, described by bystander, Faith, as "so last season...". Dan got his game on this night and was responsible for all the takeouts, only the 3rd time in TPTP history that someone has accomplished the feat.

Keep posted for the rescheduled Trebuchet weekend which will be accompanied by the Trebuchet Poker Invitational.

Game 6, Season 2 Results

Well, since it's almost been a week now, I figured I'd post the results of the last game. We had 9 people show up in all, 3 of those were playing for the first time this season. It was also the first game in Dan's new digs (the Basementio? We're open for suggestions).

Anyway, it was Chris who won his first TPTP game over first-timer Tim. The final results are as such:

TPTP is on the GROW!

Ah yes, it was the largest game EVER yesterday. Thirteen players in total (3 first-timers) threw their money in. There were so many playeres, we had to have our first ever multi-table tournament. In the end, it came down to Pat and Rudy. Pat held the unsurmountable lead, and he had an impressive six eliminations under his belt. However, Rudy didn't quit... or at least he couldn't quit as he went all-in on a 2-7 offsuit at one point, yet still won the hand. It just seemed to go all Rudy's way at the end and eventually he was the winner of the largest TPTP tournament to date, not to mention that he rocketed up the standings. Anyway, it all went down like this...

It's the latest trend...

looks like you all got the fashion memo this year... 2006 is the year of Dan winning. Thank you all kindly for your participation and donations. Everyone is welcome at the next event to try to change the trend. Resistance is Futile.

The game was fun, with 7 players, 2 first timers (Randy and Megan Purdy). Matt set himself up with an All-in just after rebuy time again and Pat went all in as well. Matt won the main pot and tripled up and I won the side pot taking our Mr Erb first. That's 2 games in a row for Matt, depleting a Patrick's chips so I could do the dirty work. Brouwer stayed alive, Fournie was next, followed by Megan. Dave tried really hard to stay in, but the chips were mostly in Randy and Dan's corner. That left 3, Randy with a decent lead for most of the night, Matt holding on for dear life and Dan hot on Randy's heels. Matt did some good work at depleting Mr Purdy's stack so I finished him off and went to work killing Matt's efforts. I played a steady game which paid off in the end. Kudos to Megan and Randy for making strong first-time efforts at the table.

Katch me if you Kan Brouwer!

Quick Turnaround

So, Sunday boasted a cozy 5 player event with some of the top players from the 2005 circuit in the dundgeon. Matt was unfortunately kept at bay by the plague or "flu" if you will, which left the door open for Dan, Pat, Dave, Chris and Rudy to take an early lead on the former, and I mean FORMER champion. The game was fairly even with no rebuys early on, but the tide quickly shifted to the North-West where Pat and Rudy held the majority of the chips, leaving Dave, Dan and Chris to fight for the scraps. Dave pulled out a dissappointing last place finish, but claims he was getting no good cards all day. That left Dan and Chris battling it out for 4th place, where Dan got lucky and Chris got the other end and left in 4th. While those battles were going on, Rudy took some big pots from Pat (ones which the rest of us wisely stayed out of) leaving him in the lead. He quickly finished off Pat and it was left between Dan with about 1800 chips and Rudy with the rest (about 4200). Luckilly, Dan had one thing in his court, which was Rudy had to leave at 5:45, so Rudy was playing ultra aggressive trying to take Dan out. Long Story Short, Dan takes Rudy out in a few dramatic all-in's with Rudy ultimately succumbing his pocket 8's to Dan's pocket 10's. Let's Dance.

All said and done, Dan has a remarkable 7 point lead on Matt, one would almost say that it would be an unsurmountable lead... perhaps.

I've got the house to myself this weekend, so we're planning another event for Sunday afternoon around, let's say, 4-ish... be there, or be... not there.

Vote for Pedro

Well, in the dawn of the federal election, only one man was up to the challenge of running away with the first TPTP event of 2006. Surprisingly it wasn't Matt, the self proclaimed "Guru" of the tour... Ol' Two Pair narrowly dodged a last place finish with a stroke of luck at the river. Unfortunatley, Pat Wilson got screwed in that hand, where he was also all-in, and was the first out.

Two Pair wasn't far behind, conceding his short stack to the juggernaut of the day. Dave held on as long as he could, but was no match for the massive power of his opponent.

All said and done, Dan Grace runs away with the lead in the 2006 season. Some would suggest to Matt that that lead could be unsurmountable. Perhaps. Good game chumps and thanks for the money.

In with the New!

In with the TPTP 2006 season and away with Matt's winning ways. Must have been a fluke. Anyways, next event is Sunday January the 15th at 2pm. Same place, same price... bring snack or drink for a few.

Happy Newyear
